Security Agencies Asked To Stop Crime Wave In Oyo, House of Representatives.
The military and the police have been asked to wade in and stop the killings and kidnappings been witnessed by communities in Oyo state.
The call was made during Tuesday’ plenary in the House of Representatives. The security operatives were asked to focus their attention on the Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency.
This was in response to a call made on the floor of the House by Hon Bosun George-Oladele under urgent matters of public importance.
He said there has been a spike in the activities of criminals, opining that it might be linked to the “decimation of trained groups (Boko Haram) from their stronghold in the Sambisa Forest and north-eastern Nigeria by security agencies.”.
The incidences of crime were corroborated by the chairman, House committee on telecommunications, Saheed Akinade-Fijabi.
Other members of the House said the spike in crime rate is just a sign of the poo administrative capabilities of the APC-led government.
The floor and contributions were characterised by members stating why they believe crime has increased with most non-APC members laying the blame squarely at the APC government’s door.
The consensus was that the security agencies have to restore law and order to those locales.
