Oyo Central Petition Laid Before Senate;

Senator Monsurat Sunmonu has laid another petition concerning the citizens she represents before the Senate.

Rising under Rule 41 of the Senate Standing Rules, the Senator representing Oyo Central laid a petition on behalf of 28 members of staff of the National Horticultural Research Institute (NIHORT) management over annual emoluments. The Senator urged the Senate to look into the matter.
It will be recalled that Senator Sunmonu has previously laid a petition on behalf of a constituent before the Senate. The petition was with reference to Pa Solomon Ojo of Oluyole LG over non-payment of entitlements for over 28 years following retirement from the Nigeria Police. Pursuant to Sunmonu and the Senate’s intervention, Pa Solomon was subsequently paid all his emoluments.

As at 9th June 2017, the 8th Senate had dealt with and cleared 72 public petitions of which at least one was laid by Sen. Sunmonu.
