Okeogun Polytechnic,Saki holds its 4th matriculation ceremony for fresh students on Wednesday.
Another set of students admitted into five faculties of the Okeogun Polytechnic, Saki (TOPS) for the 2017/2018 session have been matriculated on (Wednesday April 5,2018) at the Okeogun Polytechnic, Saki premises.
In a speech at the ceremony, the Rector of the Polytechnic says that the institution is recording rapid progress in all areas of endeavors including its stability in academic calendar ;adequate security, serene and beautiful environment, well trained and committed personnel, ultra-modern educational facilities and other limitless opportunities.
He says the institution is grounded in promoting academic and entrepreneurial excellence, transforming lives and enhancing self-sustenance, promotes technical, science,innovation, engineering and business education.
He stresses further that TOPS is not left out in sports, drawing to the memory lane of its active participation in the last edition of West African Polytechnic, Games (WAPOGA) in Ghana in 2015, also played a hostage of the Oyo State Tertiary Institution Games (OYSTIGA) where TOPS triumphed in the same year and participated in Taekwondo Competition at the Obafemi Awolowo University, where TOPS won three medals and NIPOGA 2017 with excellent performance.
”We aspire to expel in all areas of endeavours. There is stability in academic calendar ; adequate security,serene and beautiful environment, well trained and committed personnel and ultra-modern educational facilities. Development opportunities in TOPS are limitless. The emphasis of the institution will be training both the brain and the hand (entrepreneurship education) . In fact, this is captured in the vision/motto of the institution :

The Rector of the Okeogun Polytechnic, Saki (TOPS), Mr. Oladeji Matthew Olaniyi,also warns newly admitted students against indulging in social vices capable of derailing their academic performances in the higher Institution of learning, saying that brigandage, gangstarism and violence will not be tolerated by the school management and notes that management’s belief is that students who err will be disciplined while students who do well should be rewarded consequently.
He also cautions the students both the male and female against indecent dressings and promises to take disciplinary actions against whoever breaches the rules and regulation.
”As such, the management of the Institution has set a standard dress code which is documented and is available at the Students’ Affairs Office. Female students are not allowed to wear skimpy dresses that will expose their thighs or blouses that will expose sensitive parts of their bodies. As the institution frowns at negative mode of dressing by the ladies, it also disallows the male students from wearing earrings,weaving their hair or wearing suggestive dresses that corrupt the system. It is instructive to let you know that if you flout this dress code , you will be warned if you are a first offender while subsequent defiance could fetch you a suspension for one or two semesters or even outright expulsion. In additio, the Okeogun polytechnic cherishes integrity and should respect the rules and regulations of the Institution. No student is expected to break the rules and regulation, if you do this, you will face the student Disciplinary Committee and if you are found guilty, you may be suspended or face outright expulsion from the Institution”
