The Chairmanship candidate and immediate past Caretaker Chairman of ITESIWAJU Local Government Area of Oyo State, Honourable Niyi Adeagbo, has on Tuesday May 1, 2018 felicitated with the ITESIWAJU LGA Workers
on the occasion of year 2018 Workers’ Day celebration, promises that workers’ welfare will be the main thrust of his administration if elected in this month’s Local Government elections to man the ITESIWAJU LGA.
This was contained in the release and his goodwill message to ITESIWAJU LGA workers, Hon. Nìyí Adéagbo a copy of which was made available to Oyovoice Reporters, lauds them for diligently contributing to the development of the council and stressing that no matter how difficult times are, posterity will forever reward genuine labour.
According to him ”The May Day is here again to specially celebrate the working class people in Itesiwaju LGA and beyond. This is an important day in the calendar of the working people throughout the world and should be treated with such significance”.
He recalls that while serving as the Caretaker Chairman of the council, his 24-month in office was fully committed to collaborating with the labour movement to ensure that both the working people and the retirees were guarded and guided accordingly, in which he is very optimistic that all good turns deserve another which will secure him victory in the forthcoming council polls .
” As your caretaker chairman in almost 24months, my administration was committed to collaborating with the labour movement to ensure that working people were protected and supported during their entire careers and retirement. I shall uphold such after getting your mandate on May 12 council elections”.
He particularly merits the workers for their unflinching understanding they have had with Local government in time past under his leadership and expresses optimism that greater times are already unfolding, as salaries and other emoluments would be taken care of where and when necessary and would not fail to reward the diligent workers similar to what was experienced under his tutelage as the Caretaker Chairman.
” Moving forward, we will not only ensure timely payments of salaries, allowances and pensions, but also root for promotions of workers as when due. My caretaker administration rewarded hardworking staff members; the trend will surely continue. And for those that are not working directly under the government, we will remain supportive and continue to provide conducive working environments”
He therefore wishes his admirers, the APC family in Itesiwaju and all workers in the council area a safe and happy Labour Day.
