The Residents in all the nocks and cranny of Oyo State have called on Governor Abiola Ajimobi to restore the lost glory of education in the State.
Some of the Residents who do not want their names printed express dissatisfaction with the present condition of education of the sons and daughters in the State.
The residents also cite the declining performance of students in the state public examinations, urging the State government to take an holistic approach through improved resource inputs in order to improve the capacity of education in the State.
The residents also urge all stakeholders involved including Parents, guardians and other key individuals to tackle the endemic intricate challenges battling the education system of the State.
According to them ,the quality and quantity of resources available would be the major factor that would determine the performance of the Students in the Public exams.
They show their displeasure over the the poor performance of the Candidates that stood for the last exam, stressing that Oyo State students came last in the South West of the country.
They note that if concrete steps are not taken, the performance of the Students would continue to be worsten which may paralyse the education of the State.
They also frown at the modus operandi adopting by the teachers in impacting knowledge on the students. Some teachers remain in their staff rooms when they suppose to be busy teaching the Students.
They avail the opportunity to call on the state Governor and other relevant authorities to use their positions judiciously so as to find the lasting solutions to the LAUTECH crisis.
