Enemies within Oyo APC gained from my government –Ajimobi
The Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi, has alleged that some of those who are against him in the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress benefitted from his administration through political appointments he offered them.
The governor said this while hosting the party leaders and elders from the five zones of the state who paid him a courtesy visit. While also saying that he had no anointed candidate to succeed him in 2019, he added that he was willing to forgive those who had publicly confronted him over party issues.
He said “Politics is always full of disagreement. It is full of mischief, it is also full of misunderstanding but we must be humble in victory. You must call others who may disagree with you and let them work with you, after all I have led by examples and I am still leading by examples.
“Before we came in, we contested against the Peoples Democratic Party government of former governor Adebayo Alao- Akala, the Senate leader at the time, Senator Teslim Folarin, we contested against the former deputy governor Taofeek Arapaja and many others like that, but today, they are with us. That is the spirit of our own politics.
“And interestingly, all those people who are going round against us today, there is none of them who have not benefitted from this present administration. The titles they use before their names are the titles I gave them in this administration. When you hear anyone of them saying, I am former this or former that, know that it was the office or position they worked under this present government and this present governor. So, invite them.
“The Bible, the Quran is replete with people who betrayed confidence, it is replete with people who disappointed others, it is replete with people who are mischievous, it is replete with rabble-rousers, it is replete with noisemakers, but ladies and gentlemen, the Bible and the Quran preach forgiveness.
They preached accommodation and you will note and notice that there is no battle that we have fought that we have not won. And there is no war that we have not won, but we have always been forgiving, so I plead with you to please forgive, accommodate and welcome them.”
