•Oba Kofoworola has a mission


Oba Dr. Abiodun Oyetunji Kofoworola was born into royal family of Prince Emmanuel Oyebamiji Kofoworola (deceased ) and Madam Mary Baderinwa Kofoworola about 57 years ago, precisely on the new year day of January 1, 1959 in Ago-are, ATISBO Local Government area of Oyo State. This , perhaps explains the inclusion of Abodunrin in his name an age long tradition amongst the Yoruba of naming those born on special days as it was the case here, born on “Ojo Odun nla ” as the first day of January is being referred to, particularly in the Yoruba Christendom. Abiodun Kofoworola is the second in the line of the seven princes and princess with which the family was blessed.

The first was Prince Abiodun Kofoworola (Late) while other surviving siblings are : Prince Liade Kofoworola, Princess (Mrs) Mojisola Ajibola , Prince Oladele Kofoworola, Prince Ebenezer Olatunde Kofoworola in that order. At about age 7, in 1966, he charted his educational path by enrolling at Baptist Day Primary School, Ago-are from where he proceeded to Baptist High School, Saki and passed out in 1976. After his secondary School education , he moved on to lay the foundation for his becoming an educationist per excellence, and an administrator by seeking and gaining admission into the Divisional Teacher Training College, Ipefunmodu , in Osun State between 1977 and 1978 .

He obtained his grade II Teachers Certificate upon the satisfactory completion of all prescribed courses. From this professional teaching foundation level, he sought and secured admission to study Education Religious Studies at the then University of Ife (Now Obafemi Awolowo University ) and graduated in 1984 with Bachelor of Arts degree (2nd Class Upper Division ). His work history actually commenced around June- December, 1987 when he worked briefly as an Administrative Manager at Watfied and Associates, a Consultancy firm.

By January 1988, he moved on to Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC),Abuja as Administrative Officer 1. From then till he was invited by his People of Ago-are to come and be their Oba, it was promoted after promotion, result of hardwork, trust worthiness , loyalty to institution, innovativeness, sound knowledge of problem solving techniques and focused leadership. From 1988 till date, he transversed all cadre of ascension in the civil services- principal personal officer, personal assistant to the Executive Secretary , Chief Executive Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, Deputy Director, Director, Administration and Supplies and Supervising Director in charge of Human Resources Department, Director Services and Director, Resource.

Levit be noted also that while at work and releasing the importance of continuous self development for career advancement, Oba (Dr.) Abodunrin enrolled for his Doctoral degree at University of Abuja and was able to take out time to complete the programme, this earning his Doctor of Philosophy (PH.D) in Educational Administrative and Planning in 2009 an intellectual Oba, the first in Okeogun.

He is also a member of the following professional bodies : Institutes of Corporate Administrators and Secretarial Professional Institute of Nigeria, Educational Studies Association, Nigerian Institute of Training and Development and Nigerian Institute of Management amongst others. His unpublished works include ; The perception of the managerial effectiveness of Vice Chancellor by the Academic Staff of Nigerian Universities (PH.D Thesis ) Studied crisis management in Nigeria Universities between 1960-1985 (Me.d Thesis ), towards Achieving Efficiency and Effectiveness in the Management of Human Resources, Motivation and Job Satisfaction in Dublie Enterprises etc. The Aare (Alawo-Ekun) of Ago-areland , Oba Dr. Abodunrin Oyetunji Kofoworola (Ilufemiloye ), Olakanla II, is happily married to Olori Adenike Kofoworola and blessed with Children.
