BAYO ADELABU EMPOWERS OYO STATE STUDENTS, GIVES OUT BURSARY/SCHOLARSHIP TO OVER 800 STUDENTS .

On Sunday 1st of April 2018, the Bayo Adelabu Foundation at its complex, Jericho Ibadan hosted students from Oyo state to mark Easter celebration with Oloye Bayo Adelabu and host of other political leaders in the All progressive congress.

The Event had in attendance students from the University of Ibadan, Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, School of Hygiene, School of statistics, LAUTECH, Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Ibarapa Polytechnic, FCE Special Oyo and others.

The auditorium which was filled up to its brim also had in attendance the Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (Operations) who also doubles as the Chairman, Oyo State Security Trust Fund, Bayo Adelabu, his wife and trusted political associates.

The CBN boss, a grandson of a pre-independent firebrand Ibadan politician, Adegoke Adelabu, fondly called ‘Penkelemesi’ with the seeming activities also declared his intentions to run for number 1 seat in Oyo state, supporters were seen on branded t-shirts and face caps to show a form of solidarity.

While speaking to the youths at the event on conscious and active political participation, he said “We must be part of development, we must be responsible citizens. We still have a long way to go to take the state to the position it should be.

We are the pacesetters hence we must continue setting the pace”. “I went to public schools, I made 8 A’s at Lagelu, I went to OAU also, why can’t we go back to the days of the old? We’ve the best hospitals in Oyo state, I’ve traveled wide and far. We must have institutions that would execute projects and to ensure continuity”. He added.

While speaking on the incumbent activities of the state government, he said, “Gov. Ajimobi has set the pace, there’s need for someone to take on the pace, we all have to be active politically. The youths must be part of this government”.

The finalists of the Bayo Adelabu essay competition had 5 finalists selected after scrutiny of 43 essays submitted, the winners were Mr. Adelakun precious (FUTA), Idowu Jamiu (OAU), Adeniran Adekola (UI), Asudemade (UI) with each of them carting home away various cash prizes.

The Agba Akin Parakoyi, Adebayo Adelabu also empowered 10 first class students for academic excellence with 50,000 Naira each while more than 800 students received 15,000 Naira for Bursary. Students from various institutions were all seen smiling home after the event.
